Minnesota Schools Support FTK!

Minnesota Dance Marathons made a splash in 2020 as they fundraised for Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare. Students from across the state came together to take part in multi-hour dance marathon; ending with reveals of their year long fundraising totals!

Mavathon

The first to host their main event was Mavathon at Mankato State University. From Cosmic BINGO and Minute to Win It to Therapy Dogs and Miracle Family talks, this event put the “fun” in fundraiser. After 9 hours of activities, they announced their fundraising total of $20,175.31. Congratulations on such a successful event!

‘Sota Thon

University of Minnesota- Twin Cities was the next school to host an amazing Dance Marathon they call ‘Sota Thon! Countless Miracle Families attended to show their support for the leadership team and all of the dancers that took part in raising funds for Gillette. They danced for eight hours and took breaks for some fun activities. One of which, participants could “pie” each others if they received a donation, our Miracle kiddos thought this was hilarious! After eight hours of dancing, they enthusiastically revealed their  fundraising total of $21,376.20!

HUDM- Festival For the Kids

The last and final dance marathon event supporting Gillette Children’s for the 2019-2020 year was the Hamline University Dance Marathon-HUDM. On Friday, March 6th 122 Hamline students, faculty, and staff came together for the 2nd annual Festival For The Kids. Their event consisted of Black Light Zumba, Cheer offs, and countless other opportunities to connect with Miracle Families. Together they raised $10,088 for Gillette!

Thank you to all of the students that made these events so successful! At Gillette, we help our kids realize what they CAN achieve, and through the Dance Marathon community we can assist in providing programs that allow them to be their best selves!
