The Wondrous Walmart Sams Club Appreciation Event!
Nationally, Walmart and Sam’s Club have raised over 1 Billion Dollars for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and recently have celebrated raising over 10 Million Dollars for Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare, the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital!
Hundreds of Walmart and Sam’s Club employees joined Gillette at the annual appreciation and kick- off event on April 9th, 2019 to celebrate this great accomplishment, share best practices, and meet a Miracle Family of Gillette Patients, the Youngquists!
Hope and her dad, Kevin Youngquist, have something in common besides a medical condition. They’re both Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare patients. Kevin received care at Gillette throughout his childhood and teenage years before moving west to attend college and moved back to Minnesota before starting their family, where Hope became a patient before her first birthday.
“I am convinced that we were divinely brought back here for the resources at Gillette,” Kevin shares. “It brought it full circle.” Click on the Youngquist family photo to learn more about their Gillette Journey!
The Walmart and Sam’s Club attendees were extremely moved by the Youngquist’s story, especially when Hope shared her brace, spinal rods, and stuffed Skunk with them. “Skunky”, as she calls him, sucks in the bad of surgery and spits out the good!
