Angels in Action Guild Leader Award Recipient Announced

The Angels in Action award is a way for Extra Life to share and recognize the incredible efforts accomplished within our community. Based upon the L.E.A.D.E.R. values of CMN Hospitals, this award encapsulates an “Angel in Action”.

We are thrilled to announce  the Angels in Action award recipient for Q4 of 2018 is Troy Cleland, an eighth year Extra Lifer for Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare.

What makes Troy an Angel in Action:

“Troy Cleland continues to be a great example of respecting and empowering others. He reached out and gave suggestions to the new Twin Ports Board Gaming leaders as they planned and held a Board Gaming fundraiser in Duluth, Minnesota. They were empowered and grew their event. He allowed the Twin Ports Board Gaming group exposure for their event on the Twin Cities Guild FB page. In Troy’s mind, anyone raising funds for Gillette is an ally. (Collaboration award also!)
Troy took our new Gillette CMN Hospitals staff member Sara, around and introduced her to the Twin Cities Level Up store owner and Microsoft store management at the Mall of America, also visiting GameStop locations. This empowered Sara and led to more collaboration between Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare and Microsoft for an upcoming January fundraising event for Extra Life at the Mall of America!
Troy not only leads the Twin Cities Extra Life Guild, but Troy leads the Extra Life team at The Nerdery, where different employees head up fundraisers year round, empowered and made to feel a part of their Extra Life Nerds team.
Troy also encourages, provides fundraising ideas, guides and empowers The Nerdery staff at offices located in Phoenix, Seattle, St. Louis and Chicago to raise funds for their local CMN Hospitals. (Collaboration again!)
Troy led us to connect with Weirdcards and Direwolves, who also are active teams raising funds for Gillette through Extra Life. His helping our CMN Hospitals staff to connect with these team leaders has led to their empowerment and again collaboration with Gillette to grow our Extra Life program within the Twin Cities Guild.
Our Extra Life program has already raised more funds than in all of 2017 and we have two months left. Troy has had a significant role in growing our Extra Life program year after year.”
